Re: _Sinornithosaurus_

I'm intrigued by the shoulder girdle of Sinornithosaurs, with its ability to
move its arms up and down in a flapping motion. The only vertebrates I know
of that share(d) that capability are those that move in three
dimensions-----such as brachiating mammals, birds (in air or water),
cetaceans and some other marine critters like sea turtles. Can anyone name
an animal with that capability (up and down motion in the shoulder girdle)
that did NOT either brachiate, swim or fly? I guess I'm wondering if that
character might not be useful as an indicator of some form of 3-D lifestyle.
