I think that the teeth indicate that allosaurs (indeed, most theropods) killed
by
biting their prey near the belly or the back. Those blade-like teeth would cut
through the flesh, leaving a long, bloody wound. The allosaur could simply wait
untill its prey fainted from blood loss and then dine at its leisure. Modern
lizards (moniters, for instance) dispatch their prey in the same way, as did
sabertoother tigers.
