hardcover and paperback

While I was checking at amazon.com, I found out:

1) The Complete Dinosaur
       hardcover: 848 pp.  //  paperback: 768 pp.
2) The Dinosauria
       hardcover: no information  //  paperback: no information

Does anyone know if the contents are different?  IF the contents are
different, does it happen often with paperback?  Thanks for your help in
advance.
