Someone else suggested _The Complete Dinosaur_ , ed. by Farlow and Brett-Surman,
which is great, so I'll tack on _The Mistaken Extinction_ by Dingus and Rowe.
It leans very heavily on the bird side of the dinosaur family tree (hence the
title) and gets almost ornithological towards the last few chapters, but it's
very interesting nonetheless. Lots of cladograms and cool comparative
illustrations. Also a lot of coverage of extinction theories, focusing on
bolide impact, seaway regression and volcanism. An interesting textbook...
I dislike being a poor college student. The only way I get these books are by
buying them (used!) for classes and not selling them. :-)
