In a message dated 98-09-01 21:44:52 EDT, you write:

        << That is what
motivates myself and if I do die of starvation from being a
paleontologist
they are going to find me face down at a fossiliferous outcrop with
my rock hammer in hand and a big grin on my face. >>

But if you're face down, how can they see that big grin on your
face? >Ain't
I a stinker?!!?< I think a lot of you folks should go to Sears and
get the
right-sized Craftsman brand wrench and loosen it up about a turn
and a half.
For safety's sake! Of course. Dan Varner.

        Right Dan!

It's all a matter of perspective. If, say a Tyrannosaurus Rex
were on your trail looking for a quick, two bite snack, none of this would
seem pertinent. UNLESS (of course) the Tyrannosaurus Rex was really a total
scavenger, in which case being run over by a territorial Triceratops might
be your main concern. UNLESS ceratopsians weren't really territorial,
then... well, you get the point.
To me, dinosaurs are a kind of addiction. They were marvelous and
fascinating animals and amazingly successful. We should only hope to do so
well! :-)
