Avimimus' chimerical nature
... has not been established. Sure, it would simplify things a LOT if you
pick and choose which parts go with which taxon. However, no one has yet
published a study to demonstrate such a chimerical nature.
I have to admit, a LOT of the postcrania is very, VERY avian, especially
given the discovery of the alvarezsaurids.
Maybe at DinoFest the Russians will actually let my pick up the specimens
(as opposed to case in New Jersey, which was strictly "hands off").
