Yes, the nasal rugosity in T. rex is very reminiscient of that in the
giraffe, which has an irregularly-shaped boss in this area.  Note that
giraffes engage in dominance behavior in which they swing their heads from
side to side, slamming into each other.  No doubt this boss helps protect
the nasal conchae inside.  It makes me suspect similar behavior in T. rex.

Does anyone have an illustration with scale or a description that gives the
exact size of the scales in Carnotaurus and/or T. rex skin fossils?
