Ceratopsian gait
After reading the thread on ceratopsian forelimbs, a funny idea hit me
in the head:
Would be possible that the semi-sprawling of the forelimbs was used to
provide a spring action (shock-absorber like) to help deal with the
weight of the massive head and/or its use as a weapon? If this is the
case, maybe the widening of the rib cage was a consequence of the extra
space available, and not a cause for the sprawling attitude...
(No need to flame, a plain Naaaah! will do, I,m an amateur after all!!!)
Does anybody thinks this makes any sense, or should I quit drinking
turpentine for breakfast?
