Chandler presented the preliminaries for this scheme at SVP '97 - has 
he now followed it up with a proper paper? 

Incidentally, I was reading Young's _Life of Vertebrates_ the other 
day, and he says that both of the living cariamids (_Chunga_ and 
_Cariama_) possess raised sickle-claws. I have no experience 
whatsosever with seriemas and wonder if this is correct.
