TRAVELING DINOART SHOW
A number of people have contacted me asking about details concerning the
traveling exhibit of my art I'm working to arrange. The show probably will
start this fall, but it is premature to announce places and dates. Will keep
everyone informed.
The exhibit will consist of 15-20 color pieces (most around 2x3, one oversize
piece), backed by a few dozen B&Ws including detailed skeletal and muscle
restorations. (Might also include two or three sculptures based on my work.)
The title will be something like "Bringing them Back to Life: The
Dinosaur Art of Gregory S Paul". The theme will be how my art helped
illustrate the revolution in dinosaur science. As such it will include my
absurd notion that some small dinosaurs were probably feathered, ha, ha, what
was I thinking. Seriously now, different sections of the show will focus on
different subjects; such as restoring dinosaur locomotion; reconstructing
their appearance via bones, muscles, and skin; social behavior; bird origins;
pterosaurs; and so on.
Two related matters. Can always use expressions of interest from the public
in the show. If you would like to see an exhibit of my art in your
neighborhood please let me know. Send a few lines (please keep it short)
expressing your interest (off the list of course). Would be a good idea if
you could mention the most appropriate local natural history/science museum.
Second, if any museum curators are interested in their institution hosting
the show please let me know. One matter. I'm thinking of running two shows at
once. An "adult" exhibit for
natural history museums, and a "kids" version made of prints for science
centers oriented towards children that cannot resist touching the pictures.
Let me know your thoughts.
