It's even worse than that. Most of the 20 or so known speciment of T. rex
are so fragmentary that they cannot be confidently identified as either
robust or gracile.

Exactly my point. One one hand, we are free to speculate on what ever we
want. On the other, keeping our speculations withing the realm of the
productive is more restrictive than many of us think.
