Leonard co-wrote and directed the critically acclaimed hit
motion
picture "The Lawnmower Man". The film introduced the concept
of
virtual reality to
the pop culture by using high end digital visual effects to
complement the story on a modest $5.5 million budget. The film
has grossed more than $100 million worldwide. Leonard recently
directed the feature "Virtuosity", starring Denzel Washington,
Kelly Lynch and Russell Crowe.
The film is produced by Antoine Compin and Charis Horton who
have
worked together since 1977, focusing on special venue and large
format films. Some of their projects include producing Jean
Jacques Annaud,s first IMAX 3D film &Wings of Courage& for
Sony

Co-Producer on T.rex) and Co-Chairman Brett Leonard. Under the
moniker "bleeding edge entertainment" the company is recognized
as
a leader in "next generation" entertainment production. The
company has received critical acclaim for many of its high
profile
projects, including the creation and production of the visual
effects for the film "Virtuosity" and as creator and producer
for
the IS?TV Virtual Studio Tour starring Danny Devito for
CAA/Intel.
T.rex visual effects will be guided by L-Squared Producer Jini
Dayaneni and Visual Effects Supervisor Sean Phillips.
&T.rex marks the first time that creature CGI will be
incorporated in a 15/70 format film,8 said Andrew Gellis, Imax
Senior Vice President Film and executive producer of T.rex.
&Brett Leonard has proven himself capable of taking audiences
into the dazzling universe of special effects and we are
thrilled
to have him on this project. With L-Squared creating and
producing
the visual effects, and Blue Sky|VIFX (creators of the CGI for
such films as &The Relic8, Volcano8, &Titanic8,
&Face/Off8,
&Speed8, &Demolition Man8, and &Terminator II8) rendering
the dinosaurs, we anticipate a ground-breaking narrative film
that
will appeal in a major way to both our commercial and
institutional customers.8
