Tyrannosaur falls

Sure there was probably a risk in a running tyrannosaur
falling, but just how much of a risk? If they were anything like
most modern large terrestrial carnivores they probably spent something
like 80% or more of the time just lazing about. And given some of
the species they may have hunted, I'd say the risk of falling was
nothing compared with the sharp end of a ceratopsian, or the tail
defences of other herbivores. Perhaps their running was confined
to short bursts of speed for the final kill, much like lions
or leopards which have no great stamina for prolonged chases.
