Fossils and Gems?

I know this is unusual, but does anybody out there have a common web
site/list/newsgroup that I could direct a fossil/mineral type to ??  I just
had a guy in my office who wants to make connections with
fossil-shops/people etc.  So ...
I think he would appreciate any leads, phone numbers and the like in the
central U.S.
Possibly rock/shops???
