Symposium and call for papers
FOSSILS OF ARIZONA SYMPOSIUM - November 16, 1996
Invitation to the 4th Annual Fossils of Arizona Symposium is
hereby extended to anyone interested in the paleontology of Arizona
and the Southwest. This symposium is sponsored by the Southwest
Paleontological Society and the Mesa Southwest Museum, in Mesa,
Arizona (a suburb of Phoenix) and will be presented on November 16,
1996.
This symposium is a one day event with speakers from museums
and institutions throughout the Southwest. Cost includes refreshments,
lunch, an evening reception and the proceedings volume (which will be
available the day of the symposium).
The schedule of speakers and topics is subject to change without
notice, but at the present time, speakers include Adrian Hunt, Larry
Agenbroad, Everett Lindsay, Don Burge and others.
Cost for this event is $40 for SPS and Mesa Southwest Museum
members, and $45 for non members. For further information, please

Southwest Paleontological Symposium

The Mesa Southwest Museum and Southwest Paleontological Society are
seeking abstracts and short papers for the Southwest Paleontological
Symposium (formerly the Fossils of Arizona Symposium). We are
particularly interested in original research that emphasizes the
paleontology of the southwest United States within a global context.
The objective of the symposium is to provide a forum to disseminate
research and educate the public through invited participation.

Abstracts or manuscripts must be received by July 1, 1997. Abstracts
and papers submitted after the deadline will not be accepted. Selected
contributions will be published in the Annual Proceedings.
