vacation in the east

Will be vacationing in Ohio, and Upstate New York this summer--
are there any interesting dino/geology sites I should try to work
into my schedule?  We May return to Illinois by way of Penn., so
we might be able to visit sites in Penn.

Will appreciate any good suggestions, we have never been to the 
area before.
