cyanoacrylate glues
We have used cyanoacrylate glues ("Crazy Glue") here at the Royal Tyrrell
Museum off and on now since the summer of 1992. Some people here swear by
them and others swear at them. They seem to do the job, quicker and better
than the traditional glues (ie. Vinac, Butvar, Glyptol, 5 Minute Epoxy,
Gelva). I'd be interested in learning of any readers use of these glues for
the preparation of dinosaur bones, especially in a museum setting. I'd like
to hear of any horror stories or praises regarding these glues. Please email
me directly and provide details on brand name, bone quality before glue use,
penetration capabilities, long term bonding capabilities, method(s) of
application, etc.
Thankyou
