Eu-: "good, well"
-oplo-: "armored"
-cephalus: "head"

tutus: "safe, secure"--presumably because it is protected by its armor.

Recall that this dino was originally named _Stereocephalus tutus_; stereo-:
"solid, thick." So the _tutus_ was not as redundant (with the -oplo-) as in
the later name.
