Easy! Huge flocks of Archaopteryx-type aliens sewed the carcasses back 
together and filled them again with hydrogen (you can imagine how 
much fun they had by making funny high pitched sounds while doing 
this). This also explains the C/T extinction, as the aliens got bored 
of doing that after so many millions of years.
