database for fossil collection

Hello,

I am a newcomer to this discussion group, and I have enjoyed
perusing the messages. 

I am a chemist/programmer by trade, but as a paleo-hobbyist I have amassed a
moderately sizable collection of invertebrate fossils/fossil
replicas/dinosaur models/articles etc.  It's getting hard to keep track of it
all and I was contemplating setting up some kind of database on my Macintosh.
 Does anyone have any software recommendations or suggestions on how to do
such a thing?
