Tim Hamley at Tony Thulborn's Lab writes:
Ah! some real gentlemen Palaeontologists, I wish I could be there. I
wonder if the changes in the field of palaeontology
that will be discussed will include the bombastic
attitude of some of the contributors to this list.
Please remember refutation is different from ridicule and despite the
Palaeontological qualifications of H&W their contributions to the field of
science merits
a little more respect. Can those of you doing the ridicule claim the
same? Furthur, having done some reading on the subject of Archie myself
(which includes the book under discussion) I find a lot of the
"knowledgable" comments on a fossil that in fact has very few "birdlike"
characters - can anyone give me a good definition of a bird by the way -
indicate a perhaps not so good grasp of the relevant literature.
I have never liked witch hunts, especially in my own field!

P.S. the Judges decision is final and no correspondence will be entered
into, especially as Tony hates me using his e-mail to clutter this
already cluttered list.
