The book mentions the authors as follows:

        Professor Sir Fred Hoyle is one of the world's foremost astronomers.
He is an honorary Professorial Fellow at University College, Cardiff. He is
a Fellow of the Royal Society, an Honorary Member of the American Academy of
Arts and Sciences and a Foreign Associate of the U.S. National Academy of
Sciences.

        Professor Chandra Wickramasinghe is one of Britain's foremost
astronomers and an international authority on interstellar material. He is
Head of the Department of Applied Mathematics and Astronomy at University
College, Cardiff. He is a Fellow of the Royal Astronomical Society and a
Fellow of the Institute of Mathematics and its Applications.

So it seems we where both right. ;-)

Oh... Moas? What about moas? I was talking about Archaeopterix lithographica
(and it being a forgery).
