Well, strictly speaking, I suggested this exact name to a couple of
paleo-people at a Dinosaur Society meeting a couple of years ago, and I
believe I mentioned it on the list sometime last year. I'll let the others
take the credit 'till my bitter and scathing autobiography comes out, though.

As promised, I've finished the G.G. Simpson novella, _The Dechronization of
Sam Magruder_.  Not the highest of high art, but certainly a worthwhile read
for interested parties, and a fascinating peek into the author's mind. It
seems to have been written sometime between 1970 and 1980, and reflects
Simpson's opinions of the new theories of the times, as well as where he
thought paleontology might be in the 22nd century. If you can bear the price
tag, check it out!
