Dumb questions by kids

I would tell that kid pretty much the same thing as I would if he/she had 
replied that turtles are simply dinosaurs that lived in shells.

With respect to pterosaurs as flying dinosaurs, I would say:  "Look, kid, 
I just told you that pterosaurs AREN'T dinosaurs!  Have you been 
listening to that Dinogeorge guy again?"
