Re: Dinosaur Flatware, Comics

Phil,

The silverware is just a personal project not a product. At the rate at
which I'm going, it will take another couple of years before I'm done
with just the dinosaur carving part. (:-)). My limited attempts at
actual silversmithing indicate it would take further years for me to
make 8 spoons, 8 forks, etc. plus I suspect I'd find it pretty boring.
So I plan to buy the silverware itself and solder the dinosaurs onto the
handles. On the other hand, I really enjoy carving the wax dinosaurs.
As for producing sets for other folks ... While the dinosaurs will be
cast using reusable molds, I haven't the faintest idea how to easily
produce more sets. Given my skill level, the soldering will be done
laboriously for each utensil.

I'd be happy to show you the results of the current castings if you can
help me select a mechanism. If you send me a postal address, I could
send you ordinary photos :-). I could also easily digitize pictures of
them and might be able to put them on a Web page somewhere.

(I must have missed part of this conversation and have no idea what
the reference to cartoons is about....)

Thanks for the interest and encouragement,
Karen
