Fine, just don't call it English - be honest and call it American (for
dummies?). You lot have already had a good go at 'simplifying' the language
- witness the perrenial writing of palaeontology as paleontology, and the
absurd 'downsizing' of perfectly simple words like colour, harbour, etc. to
(I'll just pause to let the fit on vomiting pass) COLOR (yuk!). Some of us
like a language with 'karaktur'. If you want a language full of double
consonants then learn Gaelic.
