Re: Keratin types
Michael, there were a couple of articles in _Scientific American_ years
ago: one on keratin, one on collagen. These might serve as a useful
starting point. (I think the titles were something witty like "Keratin"
and "Collagen.") These are at least 9 years old (because that's when I had
to read them) and are most useful for understanding the chemical and
structural properties of the two. I have also forwarded your request to
the natural history collections list (NHCOLL-L) for greater expertise.
