theropod "hornlets"
My observation as a complete amateur on "hornlets" in theropods:
They would make wonderful protection for the eyes during bringing down prey.
Also a question: judging from book illustrations, there is a considerable
difference in how the "hornlets" are depicted. Especially in older books
the horns look more like simple ridges; newer illustrations seem to show a
much more distinct horn--higher, pointier. Is this just artistic license?
