Jurassic Gnawing Mammals
Does anyone know whether or not the gnawing animal niche was filled during
the Early Mesozoic? I know that the multi's were in force during the
Cretaceous, but is there any evidence for a predicessor (sp) gnawing
mammal/animal? More importantly, if there was no gnawing-mammal
equivalent, then would the chances of a single bone becoming fossilized be
much greater for the Early Mesozoic?
