You're pretty darn close to the truth, Ronald. It's a mess approaching the
controversy level of (gasp) that extinction thing and (eek!) that
thermoregulatory thing. But that just makes it more interesting; this is a
real mystery here, and people are doing real science in an attempt to solve
it. It comes natural that tempers run high and minds audibly snap shut on
both sides of the dichotomy. Scientists are people too, with faults,
preconceived notions, and misconceptions too. Not that you didn't know
that.
