CENTRE FOR GLOBAL ATMOSPHERIC MODELLING, University of Reading, UK
ATMOSPHERIC CHEMISTRY MODELLING SUPPORT UNIT, University of Cambridge, UK
Applications are invited for two scientific support posts, one for each group,
for two years, to support the UK Global Atomspheric Modelling Programme (UGAMP)
in using massively parallel computers. Within UGAMP atmospheric modelling
is supported by Reading and chemical modelling by Cambridge.
UGAMP uses a wide range of models as research tools for controlled
experimentation. UGAMP's sophisticated general atmospheric circulation and
off-line chemical advection models will require the use of parallel computers
to enable the representation key phenomena to be improved.
Candidates should have a Ph.D. or equivalent qualification and must be
experienced and able Fortran programmers. Experience in supercomputing is
desirable and a background in UNIX and numerical modelling would be useful.
Salary up to $17,000 p.a. depending on qualifications.
For application form and further particulars please contact the Personel
Officer, University of Readind, Whiteknights, P.O. Box 217, Reading RG6 2AU, UK
telephone (01734 / + 44 1734) 813754. Closing date 31st January 1995.
