new ideas on the K/T

Just read the paper by Greg Retallack on palaeosols across the K/T.  
Retallack says that he can't find much of a change in the environment 
across the boundary.  The only change is a loss of some of the flora 
and fauna (dinos that is :).  He also states that the soils that form 
the barren zone 2m. below the iridium spike were too acidic to 
preserve bone and this preservational bias may be affecting our veiw 
of the K/T event.
