Ok, Ok I admit it. In order to keep things simple I got it wrong.
The substitiutions occur in the DNA base triplet (you know A <-> T and G
<-> C), not the amino acids. One of the the bases in a triplet can be
substituted for another without altering the reading of the code. This is
what changes.

Sorry about that (hangs head in shame).
